It was another amazing day with so many highlights and again team highlights as it has been all year. For qualifying we had 8 baker games and 2 individual games. We started our 1st 4 baker games with a 173, 180, 202, 180(lane 47 and 48), then 2nd 4 baker games with 156, 170, 160, 141(lane 43 and 44). Then we went into what is the strongest part of our game, individual games with 1 sub and 2 guys carrying the load the first game on lane 47/48. Games were Sean Wyers 157, Clay Weir/Ben Harris mix game 172(Ben subbing in the 6th frame finishing with 9/,X,X,X ,8/X), Parker Horvath 188, Brenton Cochrane six bagger finishing with huge 245, Jack Marshall started with first nine, finished with a huge 265. 2nd individual game on 43/44, a very tough pair, we controlled the pocket and made our spares. Games were Jack 145, Ben/Clay mix 153, Sean 172, Parker 180, and Brenton 182. We were seeded 2 by narrow margins of 7 pins going into match play. Match play is head to head, 2 baker games combined with 1 individual game, total pins move on. #2 seed GL vs #7 seed Portand. Baker games were GL 194 to 168 and GL 187 to 209 up 4 pins after bakers. It was Ben Harris who struck 9 times in a row finishing with a 255 to safe the day and carry the Warrior on to the next bracket by 21 total pins.:) Semi finals Grass Lake vs #3 seed Napoleon. Warriors dominated bakers 225 to 125 and 183 to 161 and finished strong in individual games. Sean 166, Parker 188, Ben 199, Jack 200 and Brenton 204 to win by 282 pins. In the final it was GL vs #5 seed Boyne City. Warrior again started out ahead 184 to 172 and 182 to 165 in bakers and never looked back finishing with Ben/Clay mix game 137, Parker 180, Sean 208, Brenton 228 and Jack 238 to run away with 2nd consecutive state title by 170 pins. I cant say enough on how proud i am of these guys, they never stop working together as a team. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! BACK TO BACK BABY!!!!
