Grass Lake Warriors Varsity Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Manchester
Grass Lake Warriors Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 12-7 victory over Manchester on Monday. The game was tied at seven with Grass Lake Warriors Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Hayley Blumenauer induced Anna Konopka to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Manchester scored five runs in the fourth inning, but Grass Lake Warriors Varsity still managed to pull out the victory. Jordan Porter, Abbie Hiller, and Liz O’Hotzke all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Grass Lake Warriors Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Dana Peterson doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Kaysey Cook got the win for Grass Lake Warriors Varsity. She surrendered seven runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out four. Peterson threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Peterson recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Grass Lake Warriors Varsity.

Blumenauer took the loss for Manchester. She surrendered 12 runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out four.

Manchester launched two home runs on the day. Porter went deep in the fourth inning. Hiller went yard in the fourth inning.

Grass Lake Warriors Varsity tallied nine hits on the day. Anna Lockridge, Peterson, and Chance Macomber all managed multiple hits for Grass Lake Warriors Varsity. Lockridge went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Grass Lake Warriors Varsity in hits.

Manchester totaled ten hits in the game. O’Hotzke and Delaney Bross all collected multiple hits for Manchester. O’Hotzke led Manchester with four hits in four at bats.
