The Grass Lake Warrior football team traveled just under 9 miles to Napoleon and came home with a 32-7 win over the Pirates and nothing less than a share of the Cascades Conference Championship in their pockets.

The Warrior defense was stellar once again led by a 20 tackle performance by Cam Darrow. Ryan Simmons, James Helton, and Trenton Holden added on 9 tackles each. Winston Higgins and Steven Grysko were outstanding in the defensive backfield. Each registering 8 tackles. Higgins also broke up four passes while Grysko added an interception and a fumble recovery.

The Warriors rolled up 343 yards of total offense on the night led by another strong performance from Trenton Holden who rushed for 138 yards on 25 carries with 3 touchdowns. Shane Holcomb and Weston Kwiatek added a critical and hard fought 58 yards between the two of them. Sean Hickey proved he could use his legs as well as his arm rushing for 21 yards and a touchdown. Through the air, Hickey went 9/15 for 121 yards and a touchdown pass to Scott Crutchfield.

Grass Lake hosts East Jackson for our own homecoming game on SATURDAY at 1:00 in a game rescheduled due to lack of available officials. A win for the Warriors will clinch their first out right Cascades Conference championship since 2011.

See you at the game!
